Each instructor has inspired me in ways I never expected and I am so grateful for them. Alicia uses her platform to inspire the entire fitness community in Seattle. brings just the right amount of positivity to painful moments, whether that be running at incline 10 or modeling how to be anti-racist. Fadil has shown me how to have fun and make jokes while Shredding – even at 5am! Ashley D. To name a few- Alice has taught me to value being strong vs. I have yet to meet everyone (as I am still a little shy) but am inspired by all who I’ve engaged with. I was always the person in a studio who popped in and out, hoping not to be noticed because I was embarrassed of being out of shape and wanted to get “skinny.” I was taking a personal risk to be open to the Shred415 community, and unexpectedly learned that the discomfort of challenging myself doesn’t have to be unpleasant. I’m healthier now than when I was a college athlete, and I’ve become a faster and stronger runner than I ever thought possible thanks to Shred415.In just a year, I am 25 pounds lighter, 10 pounds stronger, and thankful for all I’ve gained beyond the scale!īefore Shred415 Seattle, I was really skeptical about the idea of a gym becoming my community. It’s a place where you can push your limits and see the results of your hard work. For me, it really is so much more than a workout. They notice when you push yourself harder, get to that new fast pace, or finish that quarter mile challenge faster than before. The Shred415 instructors have also been there for me every step of the way and their encouragement has made me feel like there’s a whole team behind me helping me get to my next goal (shout out Courtney and Fadil!). An hour at Shred415 is guaranteed to be the best hour of my day, and no matter what, I know I’ll leave feeling accomplished. If I’m ever feeling like a workout is the last thing I want to do, I immediately sign up for a class because I know it’ll reenergize me. Since that month in Indy, I’ve trained for and completed a marathon, my EWP is now a 7.0, and I’ve lost almost 70 pounds! Throughout this process, I keep on coming back to Shred415 when I feel like I’ve hit a wall because I know that the instructors there are going to help me get to my best that day. After seeing what could happen if I showed up to a class with an intention instead of just going through the motions, I was excited to see how far I could go. I started the month with an ending warm-up pace around 4.0 and ended the month around a 5.5 (thank you, Dana and Cortney!). In those four weeks, I saw more progress with my running and strength than I had in the years before. A few weeks later, I went home to Indianapolis for winter break from law school and committed to doing a whole month at Shred415 Indy. This felt like the place where I could dedicate myself to working harder, being more mindful about my fitness, and committing myself to improving. When Sarah came up a few months later, we took another Shred415 class, and that’s when it really started to click. Louis, and I returned to my normal workout routine, but I quickly realized I needed a change. The classes and instructors at Shred415 empower you to compete against yourself and do your personal best, and I immediately felt welcomed by the community. It only took a one visit for me to learn how wrong I was. At the time, I felt like there was no way I was in good enough shape for Shred415. The fast pace of the class and especially the treadmills made me a little hesitant and nervous that I wouldn’t be able to keep up. Sarah and I had rowed together in college, and we were no strangers to intense workouts however, I’ll admit I was a little intimidated by Shred415. Louis Studio came up to Chicago for a visit. I first heard about Shred415 in 2017 when one of my friends who had been working at the St.
